I Graduated from Millington, Michigan and immediately went into the Military. I served four years of active duty, mostly in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Upon completion of my tour in the military I went off to college. During my internship, I was hired into the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and within a year accepted an internal promotion into the Contracting Department. While working at the VA, I also went on to complete my master’s in business administration, marketing major. I went on to oversee hundreds of Construction and AE projects and Government and Real-Property Leasing Contracts for various Clinics (CBOCs) and Vet Centers all over Michigan. As a Contracting Officer for Construction, it was my responsibility to develop the plan the acquisition with Engineering Department and the facility, develop Solicitation Documents for bid, upon receipt of bids build a contract document and enforce the Contract in accordance with final project completion and close-out. As a Leasing and Real Property Contract Officer I completed similar duties as I did with Construction projects. One big difference was I would work with Real Property Managers and Real Estate Agents to find properties that were most beneficial to meet our needs. I would work with our contractors and engineering staff to complete the build-out process and renovation and oversee the Leasing Contract until expiration. Since leaving the Department of VA, I have built a successful small business which has now transferred to the next generation. I am now excited to take my skills and continue my career with Coldwell Banker Professionals.
